Characteristics

  • to realise process flows with more then one exit point
  • i.e. not all process paths converge in one exit point
  • the process terminates, when one of its branches has successfully completed
  • if a process has N branches, it completes when one of the N branches completes
  • one of the most commonly used construct for terminating process instances with more than one exit point
